Overview

The Kaligandaki River springs up on the edge of the Tibetan plateau in the Upper Mustang Region. It tumbles down to the plains through Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges carving through one of the deepest canyons in the world. The Kaligandaki is one of Nepal’s finest and most fun medium length Rivers, emerging with some of the Nepal’s fine scenery and fascinating villages. It runs with clear and blue water and offers breathtaking mountain views. Along the journey it travels through tiny villages and pristine land. This river offers a great range of rapids and gives you technical and fun rafting. In the evening your camp will be on the white water sands and you will enjoy the quiet night time gazing the twinkling stars in the sky. 

This river is regarded as one of the holiest rivers in Nepal and we can see cremation and burial mounds along with many small Hindu temples dotted at the side of the river.

Itinerary

Day 01: Drive to Kusma (Rafting Starting point)

After light breakfast in Pokhara we leave for Kusma (rafting starting point). After approx: 3 hrs drive, we reach at Kusma. Some of our rafting crew get ready for the raft; pack up the gear while others make lunch for you. You will float down for 2hrs on the river Kaligandaki. After lunch you continue rafting, at this time you will encounter some rapids such as Big brother, small brother, Cave, daze, and modibeni Camping at Saranghat and dinner will be served at 7:30 pm.

 

Day 02: Rafting continues

After breakfast, we pack up gear and will ready for second day adventure. Today rafting will last for 4 hours, lunch time will be around 1pm. This day we encounter rapids such as Doulebend, Pytonrock, Phalebas, Braindenfall, black rock and Sunder fall. Camping at Purtighat & dinner will be served at 7:00 pm.

 

Day 03: Final day of rafting

This is the final day of Kaligandaki River rafting. After continuous 2hrs floating, we finally reach at Mirme, where your bus will be ready to pick up you. Lunch will served at Mirme while other crew will load the gear, into the bus. After lunch we take our journey back to Pokhara or Kathmandu or Chitwan.

Cost Includes

• Transportation to/from Kathmandu as per itinerary
• All International standard rafting equipment (such as helmets, life jackets, plastic paddles and spray jackets etc.)
• Well-trained and highly experienced rafting guides, cooks, and other helping staff.
• Camping & Cooking equipment (tents, mattress & kitchen gear).
• 3meals a day (breakfast, lunch & dinner)
• Accommodation in 2 person capacity tent during the rafting
• All staff salary, insurance, meals etc.

Cost Excludes

• Any type of personal expenditure such Alcoholic beverages, soft drinks & phone.
• Food & accommodation cost in case of any natural accident caused by weather.
• Tips, gratuities to our rafting crew
• Rescue & insurance such as travel, cancellation, accident, health, emergency evacuation and loss, theft of or damage to baggage and personal effects. You are advised to insure for it.
